What about Prime?
GuldenBites was curious why the release of Prime seems to have shifted to a later date.
Originally the release of Prime stood before the 1.6.0 update wallet on the roadmap. (Roadmap see link). Hence it is a long-awaited update of the Gulden blockchain that never seems to come off. But when asked the development team they seem to have good reasons for doing so.
Rijk, founder of Gulden says: “First, the development of the 1.6.0 wallet was pushed forward at the expense of Prime. This was an important step because a good working desktop wallet (main wallet) is the basis for futher developments. The other way round would have involved a great deal more work.
There are quite a few unforeseen events that came along with the big increase in users in October, bug fixes, and the necessary Delta update, so the network could handle the increased numbers of transactions. Of course very exciting that Gulden went through such a huge growthspurt just by word of mouth. But because of that, we had to let go of other things.
Most importantly, the software is functioning properly. Nobody wants to lose money or spend hours waiting for a payment. Gulden is not developed as a marketing gimmick, but as a proper payment solution, which everyone can use safely in an easy manner.
Prime is a huge innovation in the blockchain area, which takes time and dedicated good developers. We have them. And with David, our new developer, now incorporated we will soon be able to gear up further developments of Gulden. Additionally as of the 1st of June, Rits will be joining the development team too.
Prime is now on the roadmap to be released in May. We think that’s achievable, but as with all developments: it’s ready when it’s ready. Quality always (always, always, always) comes first! “
