At this very moment there is an unique experiment going on in the crypto world. An Advisory Board is chosen where the blockchain is used to enlist candidates and record voting.

The board will consist of nine members who represent the Gulden community and who will give advice, both solicited and unsolicited, on which direction the development of Gulden should take in the future.
The unique thing is that the election is done with the help of the efficient Gulden blockchain. Everyone who wanted to stand as a candidate was given a week to apply. 
The candidacy is recorded on the blockchain in the form of text fields that are sent with a transaction.

Submit a candidate

The candidates were given a maximum of 350 characters to introduce themselves. Below you can see an example of a transaction with registration from Nick Toet.

Some candidates hadn’t enough space and used a link on the blockchain to a more elaborated motivation.

In order to give you an insight into the situation, a separate website has been created where the candidacy and voting takes place.
On Bloctary.com you will find the registration of Nick together with the transaction ID of his candidacy.
28 candidates have registered in this way and are competing for places on the advisory board.

Voting

Since February 27th the Gulden users can vote for the different candidates. Only people with a verified Nocks account are allowed to make their voice heard. This is done so that the Gulden organization doesn’t have to raise a whole KYC department but making clever use of the Nocks API with which the voter has to register. This is done to prevent fraudulent double voting. There are also people with multiple accounts such as a business account in the name of the company but this also makes it impossible to cast a vote. Only personal accounts are allowed.
It has been decided that each voter must choose 3 candidates via bloctary.com/vote/. The votes are also locked in the blockchain so that an immediately available (intermediate) result is visible to everyone. Below you can see my vote. The smarts among us can try to find out who I voted for and that is less difficult than you think. Just try it. Of course this could be hidden, but was not in this setup.

The elections run until March 6, 19:00 GMT.
