GAB News: Gulden DEX and more…
From the GAB Team:
After so many years of crypto we know one thing for sure, the crypto world is constantly undergoing changes that cannot be predicted. The next change is now coming, and that’s a big one. Nocks has been an important partner for us. And this valuable partnership is now coming to an end. Nocks has just announced to close the exchange and to transfer the software to a third party to be named. From Gulden, we wish the Nocks team every success in the future and thank them for the excellent cooperation.
From Gulden we like to think pro-actively and look ahead. Of course we cannot predict the future, but we are in control of developments. We will have to make choices which may not be relevant for now, but which are important for the future. Gulden has faced many challenges and has never avoided them; so we don’t now. Gulden’s mission will of course continue.
When the Witness development was nearing completion, we started thinking about follow-up developments within the GAB. Witness brings us even more independence and decentrality than crypto in its base already does. That is why we wanted to continue along that path in other areas. Less dependence on external parties and an even stronger base, also in terms of infrastructure around Gulden. We plan to achieve this in the following ways:
We are developing an exchange: A decentralised in-wallet exchange (DEX). This development was discussed in the GAB meeting on April 16 and it was unanimously decided by the GAB to give this development higher priority. The Nocks statement makes it a lot more topical. Gulden linked to a Euro stablecoin (on the Gulden chain) and other crypto. Of course, this exchange will be very user-friendly, because that’s what our users expect. That’s what Gulden stands for!
We are looking for new partners in the field of Exchange functionality. Also in the field of buy/sell Gulden integration, as we are used to at the moment (buy in-app or via website Gulden.com). It goes without saying that the new party where the Nocksteam will be working is also a potential partner and we are open to the same great collaboration.
We are going to set up a KYC account functionality from Centure. This will enable us to provide users with better news, but also to be prepared for legislation and functionalities for which KYC is a requirement. This also gives us the opportunity to add a very nice functionality to Gulden: sending to real people and not just complicated addresses. Think of sending to e.g. e-mail.
In the near future we will keep you informed about these developments. As far as development time is concerned, it is our intention to have these functionalities working this year.
Edit: The KYC wil not be needed for the Wallets or DEX.
